Today’s Kwik Blog post focuses on taking stock of our relationship with time. By earnestly considering your individual answers to the following questions we can hopefully discover how best to spend our most precious commodity. Here at Kovunark, we believe that it’s worth investing a moment or two in order to make the most out of every single day!
The function of the hourglass is to measure the passage of time. In another way, we can look at the hourglass as a time machine. Symbolically, the upper chamber can symbolise potential, and the lower chamber inevitability. In essence, it’s an emblem of mortality, of making the most of our voyage of existence.
What can the hourglass teach us; what can we learn from the sight of the sand grains falling one by one with each passing second?
When was the last time that you genuinely thought about the importance of time in your life? How deeply do you value your time and what you do with it? Is there a balance in your world between productivity and the moments for your relaxation and presence?
Finally, are there markers, signs, or objects that you use in your life, or can start to use, to remind you of the timeless and the ephemeral? If the hourglass symbolises transformation, what changes can you start to make over time to make the most of your life? Each grain of sand has it’s own unique journey through the passage from upper to lower. Are you treating each moment as distinct and sovereign?
